Online Content Coordinator

Summary of position
A member of the Marketing Department, the Online Content Coordinator is responsible for organizing, editing, and managing the posting of all web content on www.IESabroad.org, which includes a public site and backend portal system. Maintaining our branding, style, and voice across all online content is also a main function of this position, as well as finding innovative ways to leverage our web content for marketing purposes.
Duties:• Write, edit, review, and/or update of all online content associated with www.IESabroad.org
• Manage, edit, write, and/or review all content associated with the IES Abroad portal system, including pre-departure information for all of our locations and 100+ study abroad programs
• Work closely with Academic Department, the main content providers and editors of program information, to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness
• Manage calendar for updating content to ensure content remains relevant and correct
• Guide content editors across departments as they post and update content to meet deadlines and policies
• Ensure prompt elimination of content errors or content that is out of date, as well as work with Webmaster to eliminate technical errors
• Manage IES Abroad blogger program, including soliciting, hiring, and managing 70+ bloggers a year
• Serve on the marketing superuser team that writes and edits printed catalogs about IES Abroad’s study abroad programs
• Collaborate across departments to help develop and maintain consistency of online messaging across all IES Abroad pre-departure communications
• Update website home page content regularly to make it fresh and exciting
• Integrate videos, blog content, and other social media outlets into the website where possible to optimize their exposure
• Seek out and create opportunities for interaction between the website and the other media
• Assist with the creation, writing, and deployment of HTML emails to study abroad coordinators and/or students
• Develop, manage, refine and improve taxonomy to maximize user experience with Asst. Director of Online Marketing & Webmaster
• Work with Marketing Manager to ensure content is SEO and SEM optimized
• Implement new program marketing campaigns and initiatives online
• Other duties as assigned
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position
Qualifications:• Proven exceptional writing, spelling, grammar, and editing skills
• Ability to grasp and understand website tonality
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a marketing team and others
• Ability to write toward target audiences
• Ability to think outside the box
• Minimum of 3 years of experience writing, editing, and developing targeted marketing/communications
• Web content management system experience
• Web design experience a plus

Education Licenses and/or Certifications etc:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications or a related field

Physical demands:
• Ability to remain in a seated position for the majority of the day (between 70% -100% of work time)
• Ability to work for extended and continuous periods at a workstation operating a computer, phone and other office equipment i.e., a calculator, copier, and computer printer (between 70% -100% of work time)
• Need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets from 10% to 15% of work time
• Ability to lift or move supplies, equipment, boxes, documents and materials weighing up to 40lbs from 5% to 10% of work time
• Must be able to communicate via phone, email and in-person with employees, students and overseas employees for the majority of the day (between 70% -100% of work time)
• Must be able to communicate via phone, email and in-person with IES Abroad US and Global employees, students and parents for the majority of the day (between 70% -100% of work time)

Working conditions/Environment
• This position may be required to work beyond office hours as defined by the needs of the department and/or organization
• Due to the work environment, this workspace may experience varying noise levels. The workspace is well lit but with no direct natural light
• Must be able to work in office on a daily basis
